It is the first real investment of the Social Cooperative, not coming from the former Cooperative Therapeutic Units of the Leros State Hospital.

Until this workshop was established, the honey production lacked a certain level of standardization and promotion due to bad organization, the high costs, and that beekeeping is not the main activity of the producers.
The honey workshop, operating since 2004, employs 3 A’category employees (people with psychosocial problems) and 2 employees of B’category (mental health workers), while the turnover of the business is ranging from 4 to 6 months.
